Track guard, also spelled as track shield, is a bolt-on protective plate installed along both sides of the track frame on crawler excavators, bulldozers and crawler loaders. As a key undercarriage guard, it acts as a barrier between the track system and the outside environment. Its core job is to block rocks, mud, debris and construction waste from hitting or jamming rollers, idlers and track links, and to keep tracks aligned and prevent derailment.
